Our approach to any project involves obtaining optimum design engineering solutions within the limitations imposed by the various building forms. It is therefore our objective to work closely with all members of the design team and to have an appreciation of each member’s requirements and aspirations for the project.  The selection of the right contractors, our on-site attendance and our insistence on high quality workmanship are also an essential factor.

Architectural practices tend to prefer M&E consultancy on a full duties design input package to eliminate major co-ordination exercises and liaison problems so often experienced with contractual personnel.  At Yates Associates we would carry out each project in the following manner:

1 Establish communications with the client’s representative to define a clear brief for the project.
2 Attend meetings as appropriate for discussions and development of the design.
3

Produce an outline design with associated budget costs.

4 Produce a detailed design and tender policy to meet the established programme and provide a list of suitable contractors for discussion and approval.
5

Initiate the tender, analyse the returns and make recommendations in conjunction with the Management Team.

6

Attend site meetings and monitor cost control procedures.

7

Ensure “as fitted” drawings and maintenance manuals are produced for the client by the contractor.

8

Demonstrate the systems installed.
